Deborah grew up in Milwaukie. She attended Lot Whitcomb, Ickes Junior High, and
graduated from Clackamas High School. She obtained her undergraduate degree in
Communication Arts from Pacific Lutheran University and her graduate degree in
Educational Administration from Portland State University. After a successful career in radio and television broadcasting, she chose to return the gift she received from her high school speech teacher, and became a broadcasting instructor at the Sabin-Schellenberg Center in the North Clackamas School District. She and her husband Scott enjoy spending time with their daughters, (three of them live in Milwaukie), and their 3 grandchildren. Deborah and her husband take great pride in working in their yard, the garden, and in small remodeling projects around the house. In their spare time they enjoy camping in Oregon. Deborah is an active member of the NCEA and OEA and is a delegate to the National Education Association convention in Washington, D.C. She was chosen to represent Milwaukie on the Community Wastewater Taskforce, is Milwaukie’s representative on the Harmony Road Advisory Committee, and enjoys working at the Milwaukie booth at the Milwaukie Farmer’s Market.
