Through the vigorous efforts of City Councilor Carlotta Collette and a host of community members and partners, the Artrain USA traveling art museum will be making a stop in Milwaukie May 19th through the 22nd. The Artrain was founded in 1971 and has since been crisscrossing the nation delivering world class art exhibitions and art education programs to more than 750 communities across 44 states and the District of Columbia. This year’s show features the work of contemporary Native American artists and is comprised of 71 artworks by 54 Native American artists. Native Views explores the influence of popular culture and the many commonalities shared by all Americans. The Artrain will be stationed in the Historic Milwaukie Neighborhood, down 26th Avenue off of Harrison Street. The museum will be open to the public on Saturday, May 20th, and Sunday, May 21st. On Friday, Artrain is open from 12pm to 5pm, Saturday - 10am to 5pm and Sunday - 10am to 5pm. The show is free to all.
