ODOT Begins Highway 224 Improvement Project

In April Oregon Department of Transportation crews began an improvement project on Highway 2224 spanning from SE 17th Avenue to the I-205 interchange. The $5.9 million preservation project covering the 4.4 mile section is expected to be completed by year’s end. 

• The project includes the following upgrades: 
• Pave and stripe all lanes of OR 224 
• Replace median barrier & guardrails 
• Upgrade traffic and pedestrian signals 
• New sidewalk from Harrison to Oak 
• Additions or improvements to curb ramps throughout the project 
• Two new water quality swales
