Open House to Display the Future of City's Transportation System

For the past eight months more than a hundred citizens have participated in a series of in-depth Working Groups and Workshops to help staff update the City’s Transportation System Plan (TSP).

The TSP is an important document that contains the City’s long-term transportation goals and policies for pedestrians, cyclists, drivers, transit users, and freight carriers. It identifies the issues and projects that are important to the community, and it helps the City obtain transportation funding from State and federal agencies.

A public Open House will be held on Thursday, July 12th from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the Milwaukie High School cafeteria (11300 SE 23rd Ave) to share the combined recommendations for transportation policies and investments in the City.

Representatives from the Working Groups and the Advisory Committee will be there to answer questions about their recommendations and project staff will be on hand to address technical and policy questions.

Adoption of the updated TSP is a process that will require public hearings before both the Planning Commission and City Council. The City Council will hold a public hearing on the final TSP in December 2007.
