Chaimov Appointed to Fill Open Seat

After interviewing four applicants, all of which earned praise from City Council, Councilor Joe Loomis made a motion to appoint Greg Chaimov to the Council position vacated by Carlotta Collette at Council’s regularly scheduled Dec. 4th meeting. The motion passed unanimously, and Greg took his seat on the dais that very night. 

Before joining the council, Greg took leadership roles in many civic organizations, including President of the Board of Trustees of the Clackamas County Vector Control District, Vice Chair of the Clackamas County Historic Review Board, Chair of the Ledding Library Board, and Vice Chair of the Island Station NDA. 

Greg will hold the position through the March 11, 2008 election. This is an unexpired term created when Carlotta resigned to be sworn in as a Metro Councilor, so there will also be a November 2008 election to fill the position for a full, 4-year term.
