The City of Milwaukie is seeking a diverse group of people interested in promoting the arts and artists in Milwaukie. 

Those interested in working with local organizations, schools, and individuals to increase public art and the awareness of arts and artists throughout the City are invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, from 6:30 - 8 p.m. at Milwaukie City Hall (10722 SE Main St). 

The Milwaukie Area Arts Committee will work to build upon increasing opportunities to experience the arts in Milwaukie such as the Ledding Library Poetry Series, the installation of the fountain outside Ledding Library, and the opening of several new art galleries in Milwaukie. Meeting topics at the first meeting will include the basic duties of committee members, possible goals for the first year, and next steps. The Milwaukie Area Arts Committee will meet about five times a year with subcommittees meeting more frequently.
