Councilor Mark Gamba will be the only candidate listed for Milwaukie Mayor on ballots for this May’s special election. The City Recorder accepted petitions for Mayor until 5 p.m., March 10, 2015, and Gamba is the only resident who filed.
Gamba, or a write-in candidate, when elected in the May 19, 2015 election will fill the unexpired term vacated by Jeremy Ferguson, which expires at the end of 2018.
Ferguson resigned in January 2015. Wilda Parks was appointed Mayor on Feb. 17, 2015 and will serve until the newly elected Mayor is sworn in at a City Council meeting in June 2015 after the results of the special election are certified by the Clackamas County Elections Division.
