Marking another major leap in realizing the long-term goal of reclaiming one of the most beautiful views of the Willamette River and building a park to draw people from around the region to enjoy it, construction of Phase II of Milwaukie Riverfront Park began in June 2014.

The City developed a new vision for its South Downtown (the area south of Washington and between 99E and 21st Ave) during the period between 2008 and 2011. Council adopted the South Downtown Concept Plan on September 26, 2011, and directed staff to continue work on an implementation strategy.

Concept plans for four Milwaukie Neighborhood parks developed with community input

North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District (NCPRD) and the City of Milwaukie are partnering to plan and develop the parks, which are currently known as Balfour, Bowman-Brae, Robert Kronberg  and Wichita parks. While funding to build the parks is not currently available, community input will help shape the concepts for the future parks.
