Councilor Joe Loomis

Joe Loomis was born in Milwaukie and has been a resident for the past 25 years. Joe’s primary involvement in the community for 20 of those years has been through building and supporting youth athletic programs.

More recently, Joe’s been involved with the Friends of the Milwaukie Pool and the Parks and Recreation Board, served on the School District’s Extended Budget Committee and founded Kids First, a local organization promoting the preservation of youth athletic opportunities in Milwaukie.

Joe was appointed to fill Brian Newman’s term in March of 2003 after Brian was elected to Metro’s Council. Joe was then elected in 2004 and his term expires in December of 2012.

Joe’s a longtime resident of the Ardenwald Neighborhood, and has been with his wife Lorna for 25 years.
