Public Meetings

The Office of the City Recorder is the government office in the City of Milwaukie that directly conducts itself to meet the needs of the City Council and the Mayor. The Office of the City Recorder maintains certain guidelines that the Public Meetings Law 192.620 requires. Decisions made at meetings and when meetings are held have to follow criteria set by the State of Oregon. 

All public meetings must be: 

  • Open to the public (except executive sessions) 

  • Properly noticed 

  • Accessible to the public 

  • Smoke free 

  • In a non-discriminatory location 

  • Within city (except for training) 

  • Interpreted for hearing impaired if requested 

  • Memorialized by minutes
